St. Simons is just one of the beautiful islands which lie just of the Georgia coast. Sea Island, which is accessed by way of St. Simons, offers five star resort amenities through The Cloister and Beach Club. These amenities include full service spa, Beach Club with restaurants, three pools, beautiful beaches, exercise and personal training facilities, horesback riding, tennis, squash courts, fine dining, shopping, as well as programs for children in the summer.
There are permanent residences on Sea Island, which all enjoy the amenities that Sea Island has to offer. Sea Island is a gated community, and gaurded by security 24 hours a day. The homes are set on large lots with beautiful native oaks framing the homes, and of course the homes are fabulous. Sea Island is by far the most exclusive setting in the Golden Isles.
Sea Island also has several beautiful golf course communities on St. Simons Island. With the purchase of those unique properties comes the rights to a Sea Island membership. St. Simons Island Club is one such community which offers properties with Sea Island membership rights. The Lodge is also located on St. Simons, but is a Sea Island resort. There are residential communites located throughout St. Simons, including Sea Side, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and world-class golf courses.
All of these communities offer amenities, differing depending on the community. St. Simons Island Club features golf, tennis, pool, clubhouse, dining, as well as a golf pro-shop.
So, how does the membership process work?
Once you purchase a property with Sea Island membership rights attached, then you are free to purchase the actual membership. A full membership, which offers you every amenity, can be purchased for approximately $150,000. Once the membership has been purchased, a yearly fee of approximately $12,000 for a family will be due.
If you are not interested in a full membership, other packages are available. For example, if you were just interested in the restaurants, or golf, without the other amenities.
