Over thirty years ago, Phoebe Hoaster began her real estate career in Atlanta, Georgia. Her son, Jon, had just been born, and Phoebe needed a career that would allow her to raise her son. Her husband, Gene, was a developer at the time, but Phoebe saw something different for Gene. She talked him into joining her in real estate, and he has enjoyed helping buyers and sellers ever since. In Phoebe’s thirty plus years in the business, she has become one of the top one percent of REALTORS® in the country! Her instincts, expertise, and love of people have played a large role in her rise to the top. Since her beginnings in Atlanta, a lot has changed for Phoebe. She was tired of the fast-paced life of the city, and longed to get “on island time”. Gene was raised on St. Simons Island, so of course he was happy to return. Once her son, Jon, graduated from the University of Florida, it did not take him long to realize he wanted to follow in his mother’s footsteps. Phoebe has mentored Jon, and now he is an experienced REALTOR® and a member of the Circle of Excellence.
Now the four of us are Team Hoaster! The family tradition that Phoebe started over thirty years ago has evolved into one of the most successful real estate teams in the nation. We all possess different skills, talents and passions, which make us a perfect compliment to one another. Team Hoaster takes pride in its commitment to quality service for our customers and clients. Who is Signature Properties?
On March 28, 2003, Signature Properties Group opened its St. Simons Island office. Since that time, we have been intensely committed to three goals:
As a part of Signature Properties, Team Hoaster subscribes to all of these goals. But, what sets Team Hoaster apart from agents od other companies? First of all, clients have the luxury of four agents for the price of one. Phoebe, who has over 30 years of Real Estate experience, has mentored and trained each of us to give the highest standard of service to our clients and customers. As a family, we have worked very closely over the years, and developed a system that works! We all offer different skills, abilities and interests to the team, which blend perfectly. What this means to our clients is that no detail is ever left unattended to; with four of us working for every client, there is always someone available to answer questions, follow-up on inspections or loan information, show property, go on listing appointments, or any other issue that comes up on a daily basis. Another asset that Team Hoaster possesses is an intimate knowledge of the area and its people. Both Gene and Amy grew up on St. Simons, graduating from Glynn Academy forty years apart. We have a unique perspective having watched the island become what it is today. We, as Team Hoaster, are part of the small-town network present on St. Simons. Whether it is fellow church members, business associates, family or friends, people in this area know and trust us to do everything we can to best represent our clients. We are always looking for creative ways to put a buyer with the right home, as well as help the seller market and sell their home for the best possible price. For example, Team Hoaster averages between 30-50 listings at any given time, but we also have inside knowledge of homes that are not listed, but may be “for sale”. These are called “pocket listings”. Whenever we can, we bring buyers and sellers together, negotiating a great deal for everyone. Sometimes it just takes us introducing the right buyer to a great property, whether it is listed with us or not. It is this type of commitment to our business that keeps clients coming back. We are proud of the repeat business we enjoy, and strive to make all our clients feel that they have received the best possible representation. We have just moved to a new location, which we are all very excited about!!

Amy, Jon’s wife, never seriously considered real estate as a career. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida, and began a career in the mental health field. With the birth of their son, Jacob, in 2006, Amy knew she needed to make a change. Her natural love of helping others made her a perfect fit for Team Hoaster.
